Navis Yard Scheduler
Navis™ Scheduling
Real-time Yard Scheduling

Navis™ Scheduling is an advanced yard scheduling and capacity planning tool that allows users to dynamically schedule loads into or out of a facility based on facility and dock-defined capacity constraints. Freight attributes, such as commodity, temperature requirements, unitization and load types, etc., are used to determine the optimal number of appointments and appointment times. By appointing inbound and outbound loads based off true capacity, facilities minimize idle time at the dock, streamline inbound and outbound flows, and increase trailer utilization. Most importantly, priority loads are expedited allowing the facility to meet and exceed service level goals. Navis Scheduling combats peak and valley waves by sequencing inbound and outbound loads to balance demand with resource availability.

Product Highlights

Navis Scheduling is a web-based, self-service, capacity-constrained appointment system that allows any authorized user to create appointments to or from a facility. Vendors, carriers, and internal customers can schedule inbound and outbound loads, and based on a facility-defined capacity model, appointment times are automatically generated for the user.

1. Support self-service appointment scheduling by shippers

An easy-to-use, self-service web interface allows shippers, vendors, carriers, and any other authorized users to create appointments to or from any authorized facility in the network.

2. Drives real-time booking based on actual capacity

Facility capacity can be modeled by case/carton count, weight handling capabilities, appointment slots, or many other methods, allowing significant flexibility in dynamically keeping the facility running at optimal capacity.

3. Determines capacity based on advanced capacity modeling

Using the facility-defined capacity, real-time capacity consumption can be displayed and analyzed. Capacity configurations can be altered or overridden on the fly, allowing for real-time management of dynamic business activity.

4. Prioritizes loads based on user defined attributes

Appointment capacity and prioritization is automatically determined from any combination of freight attributes, including temperature requirements, loading type (floor loaded vs. slip sheeted, for example), commodity class, and warehouse put-away locations.

5. Provides real-time visibility to total schedule
The Navis Scheduling "Today" page displays all activity at a facility at a glance. This includes inbound and outbound appointments, assigned carriers, commodities, load complexity, and many other factors.
6. Supports reporting and user defined alerts
A built-in reporting and alerting engine allows for email/SMS notification of specific, user-defined business events occurring or not occurring.
