Simulations Software will Help SPARCS Customers Further Optimize Terminal Performance
OAKLAND, Calif. — June 14, 2005 — Navis LLC, a global leader in enterprise software solutions for supply chain execution, has partnered with TBA Nederland, a leading European logistics and simulation consultancy, to resell its terminal simulation software to Navis customers. The Container Terminal Optimized Logistics Simulation (CONTROLS) software will enable Navis customers to test improvements to terminal operating systems offline in order to validate performance, improve efficiency, and reduce project risk.
For 16 years, Navis SPARCS has set the terminal operating system (TOS) standard by enabling customers to address tough challenges and successfully meet or exceed their business goals. TBA Nederland provides customers with up-to-date simulation techniques resulting in detailed terminal system simulations, new applications to assist the design, implementation, and operations of container terminals.

For example, Navis customers who purchase CONTROLS can tune SPARCS performance by linking the software with the TBA Nederland simulation model. SPARCS will then operate as it would in a live environment to allow for detailed simulation and testing. Using CONTROLS with SPARCS, Navis customers can further optimize terminal performance, validate that plans meet performance goals, provide on-going training, and shorten go-live periods.
