Senior Software Engineer – Advanced Applications Group (Job Code: SSE/AAG)

Job Description

Navis, the global leader in resource optimization technology for the transportation and logistics industry is seeking a Sr. Applications Developer to develop, validate, implement, and support advanced applications/enhancements for planning, scheduling, and automated control working within its Advanced Applications Group.

Candidates need to be flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced environment with short release cycles. Up to 6 weeks/year of international travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (or equivalent full life cycle software development experience) in
  • Computer Science, operations research, applied math or related analytical fields
  • Demonstrated skills in developing, validating, implementing, and supporting large scale
  • optimization-based decision support systems
  • 5+ years of industry experience and outstanding track record in applications/algorithm development
  • Proficient in C++ (and or Java)
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team or independently
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Detail Oriented

Desired Experience:

  • Mathematical optimization (e.g., linear optimization, combinatorial optimization, network flows, nonlinear optimization, constraint programming, meta-heuristics)
  • Advanced planning and scheduling
  • Supply chain management
  • Mathematical modeling and simulation
  • Data structures and algorithm analysis
  • GUI development using 3rd generation programming languages
  • BE/ BTech/ MCA/ MSc or equivalent
