Technical Writer (Job Code: NIT/TW)

Job Description:

Deliver on-line end-user and system administration documentation for a new Terminal Operating System (TOS) for marine terminals. You will work with developers and QA engineers to author accurate and detailed documentation in AuthorIT and publish it to JavaHelp, accordig to a regular mini-release schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed documentation and online help for company TOS marine products.
  • Assist with release note writing and editing

Required Qualifications:

  • BE/ BTech/ MCA/ M.Sc or MA Literature
  • 2-4 years experience as a technical writer
  • Professional experience with the following tools: MS Word
  • FrameMaker/WebWorks, Acrobat, PaintShopPro, Visio
  • Project planning/management experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities/assignments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Natural curiosity and initiative, and a results-oriented approach to work
  • Experience designing and writing content for online help
  • Experience with content management
  • Experience delegating tasks to other more junior writers

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working with JavaHelp, AuthorIt, WinCVS, SQL
  • Experience writing for Java and Web applications, Business Intelligence applications, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, CRM Applications, or Systems Engineering (operating systems, middleware, databases).
  • Experience working in an XP/Rapid Application Development environment
  • Experience working with remote developers and writers
