Support Engineer (Job Code: NIT/SE)
Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of success as a Technical Support Engineer within the software industry and who has ideally worked in product support. You will be working in a customer support environment, consulting with customers, handling cases and providing fixes to problems as well as liaising with the development team for more complex fixes.
Required Qualifications:
- Reviewing and verifying software bug reports via web based tools, e-mail, and telephone
- Installation and configuration of software bug patch fixes for Oracle/UNIX based, C++, Pascal, and J2EE based software products
- Customer-facing management of outstanding customer issues regarding software implementations, questions about documentation, etc.
Desired Experience:
- BE/B Tech/MCA/MSc or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in technical software support and/or terminal/maritime operations
- Knowledge of UNIX, Oracle, C++, Pascal and/or J2EE required
- Knowledge of API’s, XML, JAVA, and APACHE preferred
- Industry knowledge of distribution center logistics or marine terminal management a big plus
- Good customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Troubleshooting and problem solving capability a must
- Will be required to work in shifts on a rotation basis
