- Product Manager – Marine TOS - Oakland, California
Systems/Network Administrator /DBA (Job Code: 102008RC)
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with a team of very talented people identifying key implementation issuesInteract with internal development and client side engineering to identify bottlenecks in performance or particular steps that need to be taken to implement software product successfully. Work on building new servers, provisioning storage, performing application setup, hardware and OS upgrades, diagnosing issues with applications running on the server, shell scripting, debugging network configuration, responding to problem tickets for issues reported by clients, writing formal RCA for production problems, providing feedback to architecture and development teams.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with 24/7 environment
- Good knowledge of hardware technologies and systems support * administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, and general maintenance
- Detailed knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) schemes, schedules, and testing methodologies, storage data replication, snapshot, RAID, or data movement software, enterprise tape libraries
- Working experience with at least one scripting tool, Perl and UNIX shell scripts
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people both verbally and in writing. Skill in writing, concise, understandable, technical documentation is necessary
- Experience dealing with end-user troubleshooting requests - Ability to work within a team environment and independently is a must
- Effectively communicates technical actions, ensures audience understands why/what/when work will be accomplished
- Strong network skills: Routers, Switches, topology, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, CISCO
- Ideal candidate will have strong System and Networking skills covering a wide range of environments:
- Windows, Unix (solaris, HP, AIX, Linux)
- Strong database skills (Oracle, SQL Server, My SQL, etc)
- Database Tuning, Performance, Best Practices, etc
Education/Training/Experience:
Candidate must have proven track record of delivery of enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives.
- Ability to visualize enterprise wide data architecture strategy, migration and adaptation strategy for adherence and change as needed
- Ability to analyze and learn rapidly changing technologies and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements
- Ability to take an enterprise level view of business processes and functions and recommend opportunities for data sharing or data flow simplification
- Assists in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality
- Effective interpersonal, communication, documentation and client service skills
